Nugenix Total T Reviews

Nugenix Total T Reviews | Effective Testosterone Supplement?

This is our Nugenix Total T review, a testosterone booster made by Nugenix, and distrusted by Adaptive Health LLC in the United States. The product has also been featured on TV and Youtube Ads.There are numerous claims that are made about this testosterone booster, which claims that it can help promote:

  • Increase Lean Muscle Mass
  • Boost Free Testosterone & Total Testosterone
  • Support Stronger Sex Drive

But how does this product achieve this? Like in our other reviews, we’ll be taking a closer look at Nugenix Total T, and see if it really is a free testosterone booster.

What does Nugenix Total T do?

Nugenix Total is a testosterone booster claimed to raise both natural and free testosterone.

What’s the difference? Free testosterone is the T that you have circulating in your system, available and ready to be used, whereas normal T is what your body is already using that is already bound to something in your system.

Nugenix Total T claims to use natural ingredients to give your body the nutrients it needs to produce more of both and give you more support for the male hormone as you’re aging.

In our product reviews, we look at the ingredients, side effects and the general effectiveness of a product like this to see how good it really is, and if their deserving of having commercials like this made about them…

Nugenix Total T Ingredients: What’s in here?

There are numerous ingredients in Nugenix Total T. All of them are completely natural and aimed at helping to raise your natural levels of testosterone.

We’ll be looking at the full ingredient list and giving each individual reviews while giving our verdict on what helps testosterone here and why.

Nugenix Total T Ingredients

Nugenix Total T Ingredient List

Below is the full list of ingredients for Nugenix Total T:

  • Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine hydrochloride) – 2 mg
  • Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin) – 2.4 mcg
  • Zinc (as Zinc Chelate) – 1 mg
  • L-Citrulline Malate (2:1) – 1125 mg
  • Fenugreek Extract (seed) (50% Fenuside) (TestoFen) – 600 mg
  • elevATP Blend (Ancient Peat Extract [Trace Minerals] and Apple Fruit Extract) – 150 mg
  • Eurycoma Longifolia Extract (root) – 100 mg
  • Boron (as Boron Glycinate) – 10 mg

As you can see, the majority of the ingredients in this testosterone boosters profile are clearly displayed. You know how much of each ingredient you’re getting – and we can use that information to assess dosages to see how it compares to other testosterone boosters.

The only exception appears to be the elevATP which does not disclose the exact dosages of the peat and apple fruit inside it.

Below, we look at this product and it’s ingredients to see how it can all influence total testosterone.

Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine hydrochloride) – 2 mg

Vitamin B6 can help with numerous aspects of your health. This vitamin can support your immune system, as well as other areas such as skin quality, and mental health.

Does it raise testosterone? No. Vitamin B6 can help in someway to indirectly lower your levels of the female hormone estrogen, but not to any considerable effect that makes it a serious team player in Nugenix Total T.

The only time this vitamin B6 may make a difference to your general health is if you have a large deficiency in it.

Aside from that, Vitamin B6 is unlikely to do much when it comes to your overall testosterone.

Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin) – 2.4 mcg

Vitamin B12 is constantly linked to boosting energy, by how it can help regulate energy metabolism. In terms of actually boosting testosterone, it won’t have much of an impact in Nugenix Total T but it can help to some extent with energy and general health being one your body’s essential vitamins.

Essentially, Vitamin B12 is more a general health support in this testosterone booster rather than a direct booster of T.

Zinc (as Zinc Chelate) – 1 mg

Zinc is a great option for any testosterone booster, and we are glad to see it here in Nugenix Total Testosterone.

The main way that Zinc works to help raise your testosterone levels is how it interacts with chemical reactions in your brain. After you absorb Zinc, it can react with your brain to help create more of the Luteinizing Hormone (LH) which is your body’s precursor to both growth hormone and testosterone.

The more LH that you have in your system, the more support that your testosterone levels have to grow.

However, one of the flaws that we may have to point out here with Nugenix Total T is that the Zinc in here is only at 1 mg. This is far too low for you to see any significant effect when it comes to testosterone boosting.

If this product had higher levels of Zinc it would be a much better choice for raising your testosterone levels, however, for now we think this part of the formula needs some revision.

L-Citrulline Malate (2:1) – 1125 mg

This isn’t an ingredient in Nugenix Total T which can help support your testosterone levels – however L-Citrulline Malate can help benefit you in other ways, such as physical performance via better blood flow.

L-Citrulline is an amino acid that is usually found in fruits like watermelons. After it is absorbed by your body, it is converted into L-Arginine which can help to dramatically increase your overall levels of nitric oxide.

Higher nitric oxide levels allows your body to enjoy better muscle pumps while in the gym. This allows you to both get a better feel and experience from training, but also allow extra blood flow to your muscles which can help improve overall endurance.

This amino acid can help muscle mass in this respect, but we do have to mention that the dosage in Nugenix Total T is a little low. Studies suggest that for the best effects you need between 6000 – 8000 mg per serving, prior to a workout. With only 1125 mg in Nugenix Total T, you’re unlikely to get the same level of benefit.

Again, this is another ingredient in this testosterone boosting supplement that could use some tweaking for better overall results.

Fenugreek Extract (seed) (50% Fenuside) (TestoFen) – 600 mg

Fenugreek does have some advantages in Nugenix Total T, but there are also some drawbacks which accompany this nutrient.

First off, Fenugreek has been seen in some cases to help raise libido – which is good for your sex drive. On top of that it can also work as an aromatase inhibitor (estrogen blocker). This can help cut down your levels of the female hormone and allow you to have a better hormonal environment for your testosterone levels to grow.

That said, as well as being an aromatase inhibitor, Testofen Fenugreek may also cause problems as an alpha-5-reducatase blocker – which can reduce your levels of DHT, a far more potent version of testosterone.

So although Fenugreek may give your libido a lift, and help create a better hormonal environment for your regular testosterone levels to thrive – you’re taking a risk by putting your DHT levels at stake.

elevATP Blend (Ancient Peat Extract [Trace Minerals] and Apple Fruit Extract) – 150 mg

elevATP is a proprietary blend in Nugenix Total T. This means it’s more than one ingredient, and we don’t know the dosage for either – all we know is the combined dosage: 150 mg.

The elevATP blend contains ancient peat extract and apple fruit extract. Ancient Peat doesn’t have much research on it, however, the nutrients in it may be able to help raise your energy levels. That’s if this ingredient is sufficiently dosed.

Apple Fruit on the other hand has also has claims to boost energy levels, as well as overall endurance and strength. That said, there’s not a lot of evidence for this ingredient to confirm this.

Both ingredients in this blend both lack the research and the clear dosages to know how much it can actually help your performance potential – if it actually can at all.

Eurycoma Longifolia Extract (root) – 100 mg

This is not a good ingredient for testosterone boosting in Nugenix Total T. Eurycoma Longifolia also known as Longjack or Tongkat Ali, has often been claimed to help improve overall testosterone levels and muscle mass – but this claim has not been proven for humans.

It has been seen in some cases to help with libido and sex drive, and has been to a much greater extent in animals – but these benefits do struggle to scale up up when it comes to humans.

Especially when it’s low doses like 100 mg such as in Nugenix Total T. Studies show that testosterone boosters that contain 300 mg or more, are more likely to yield results for helping to boost libido.

Boron (as Boron Glycinate) – 10 mg

This is a much better option in Nugenix Total T. Boron is a mineral which has been seen in numerous cases to not only help to improve testosterone levels, but also help to reduce estrogen to some extent.

It’s a fine mineral in this testosterone booster for helping to improve your overall hormonal environment to allow yourself to drop down to lower levels of the female hormone while allowing your T levels to flourish.

It’s one of the best ingredients in this testosterone booster.

Nugenix Total T Formula Summary

So, how effective is Nugenix Total T product formula? As you can see, there is definite room for improvement. Below, we’ll give you a quick overview of the main ingredients and what they can do:

  • Zinc – Good for testosterone, but under-dosed here.
  • L-Citrulline – Good for muscle pumps and endurance, but under-dosed here.
  • Fenugreek – Helps libido and fights estrogen, but may lower DHT (strong testosterone).
  • elevATP – May help energy but not much research.
  • Eurycoma Longifolia – Supports libido, but not much else.
  • Boron – Helps testosterone and reduces estrogen.

In terms of dosing and results, Boron is the winner here. The Zinc definitely needs a higher dosage and a lot of the other ingredients need to be revised in general.

D-Aspartic Acid, Ashwagandha, Magnesium for Free Testosterone, Muncuna Pruriens, Vitamin D3, all of these things would’ve been great additions to this testosterone supplements profile – but none of them have been included.

There’s a lot of good options that have been missed out in this testosterone booster. Especially as there’s nothing in here that is an active free testosterone booster. There’s a lot of revision which could be done to this ingredient list to make it much more effective as a testosterone boosting product.

How do you take Nugenix Total T?

Adult males should take three (3) capsules daily, with or without food. This is all under one larger serving as recommended by Nugenix. Do not use if safety seal is already broken.

Is this good? It could be better, most of the top performing testosterone boosters choose to have numerous servings throughout the day. For example one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The idea behind this is that it gives your body a constant supply of the ingredients it needs to keep its t levels of the rise.

Being set up to only deliver one serving, Nugenix Total T may give your body a boost, but then your body has to wait another 24 hours for the next top up. It’s not the most practical way to support your T.

Also if you’re taking Nugenix Total T with food like oats, it may alter the potency as the oatmeal may absorb the nutrients which may then get passed in your stool. Just something to be aware of with a product like this.

Nugenix Total T Side Effects

Nugenix Total T Side Effects: Is it safe?

There are potential side effects with Nugenix Total T, the main issue coming from the fenugreek in this formula.

When you look through the academic reviews of Fenugreek which shows it has the potential to lower your DHT levels, it’s something to consider before purchasing this product.

DHT is a critical part of your overall testosterone, taking a risk on sacrificing it to raise your base testosterone may not be the best move.

Aside from that, none of the other ingredients in Nugenix Total T appear to have risks linked to causing side effects. The main concerns stem primarily from the Fenugreek.

If you are cautious about taking Nugenix Total T, or testosterone boosters in general, we suggest that you consult a healthcare practitioner to get real medical advice. We are not medical professionals, but speaking to your doctor could help you ensure that you are making the right moves with your choice in supplements.

Nugenix Total T Review Summary

As you can see, Nugenix Total T is not the best test booster that we’ve come across on the market. Although it is a big seller at a store like GNC, Rite Aid, online and has commercials showing wonderful user reviews – we struggle to see how that can be the case.

The main reason is due to the ingredients, if they’re not under-dosed, most of the time their ineffective for helping your T levels.

In our opinion, there are much better options on the market at the moment, which are not only more effectively dosed and researched – but also are available at a much more affordable price.

Nugenix Total T seems to be riding off it’s advertising and brand reputation, rather than looking inward into their supplement. A few changes in their formula could make this a supplement to be reckoned with.

Nugenix Total T FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most frequently asked questions about Nugenix Total T and the Nugenix brand in general. These are questions that our outside of customer reviews and didn’t organically fit into our product review.

How long does it take for Nugenix Total T to work?

Typically it takes around 30 days for Nugenix Total T to work. This is the way with most natural testosterone supplements.

We actually put together a full article on this question that you can read here.

What are the side effects of taking Nugenix?

The potential side effects from taking this version of Nugenix is a dip in your DHT levels. Although the fenugreek may help to support your main testosterone, the DHT is left on the sidelines.

This is the main potential risk with this T booster, aside from that you shouldn’t run into any issues with this supplement that will affect cognitive function, or cause gastrointestinal distress. It’s relatively safe outside of the risks it poses to your DHT.

Is Nugenix FDA Approved?

Nugenix Total T or any Nugenix product is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. However, this is the same for all natural supplements.

The main reason for this is that they are technically dietary supplements. This means that they are not drugs, or any thing that can be prescribed over the counter.

The FDA is typically only concerned with products which aren’t natural and potent enough to warrant a prescription. As Nugenix is all natural herbs, nutrients, vitamins and minerals – it doesn’t fall under the scope of what the FDA evaluate and approve.

Not having FDA approval when it comes to supplements doesn’t mean they’re not safe – it typically means they’re not synthetic drugs while require being controlled and only distributed via prescription.

What does Nugenix do for a man?

Nugenix is an all natural male testosterone product which has claims to help raise testosterone, muscle mass and libido. However, how effectively it does this is up for debate, as you can see in this article.

Is Nugenix Total T Worth the Money?

In our opinion, we don't feel Nugenix is worth the money. At a price of $79.99, it one of the most expensive testosterone supplements on the market - and unfortunately the ingredients don't support that price tag. Being under-dosed in places, and in other places not promoting T at all (e.g. the Citrulline - which is also under-dosed to boot) there's a lot of issues with this product that we feel misses the mark. We feel the main reason Nugenix is priced the way it is comes from their commercials. Without a doubt this testo booster company spends more than any of their competition considering the amount of commercials they run. In doing so, they may need to ramp up the pricing of the product itself to justify the money they spend to market the supplement.
